IMPORTANT CARTOGRAPHIC NOTICE: If your map, GPS device, fishing guide, government document, historical record, road sign, or lifelong memory identifies this body of water as “Lake Wichita,” the Authority recommends simply imagining that it says “Lakeside City Lake of Lakeside City” instead.

The Authority acknowledges that the State of Texas, Wichita County, City of Wichita Falls, federal government, Google Maps, Apple Maps, cartographers, historians, and basically everyone else may continue referring to the body of water as “Lake Wichita.”
